James LeJeune
A versatile creative, James is an interdisciplinary artist and enjoys conceptualising the future while thinking about the past.
James has a passion for history, myth and science fiction which inspire his stories. Combining analysis with creativity to take a dynamic and well balanced approach to designing imagery.
James is a self-employed artist and illustrator. He has lived in Colchester most of his life but found a passion for creating whilst living away from the city. His artwork is inspired by history, nature and the tragedy and conflict we as humans create, often being both protagonists and antagonists of our own narrative.
James has a passion for exploring myth, science-fi and human struggles. Great joy is taken in narrative and historical-based subject matter. Finding the best way to visually describe a theme or illustrate stories is a key process James has practiced.
The main element in all of his work is a sense of narrative, whether an unknown origin that leads us to a place, a sequence in motion or profound compositions that reflect our own struggles with choices of morality and consequences. Some use colour and painting techniques to provide emotional expression, while others are more metaphorical analogies of the struggles of humanity and their path to the future.
